    Zang Physical Therapy Services

    Physical Therapy

We offer the most up-to-date evidenced based patient centered interventions. We utilize a combination of active and passive interventions seeking to help you achieve your functional goals. You will not see tons of fancy equipment, though equipment may be utilized. The goal is to transition exercise at physical therapy into those doable at home to complement and promote faster recovery.

Physical therapy is often the best conservative treatment for musculoskeletal pains. If you have an issue, do not wait to seek care. Early treatment often results in quicker recovery

    Manual Therapy

These hands-on interventions are delivered by the skilled physical therapist to the patient. This term is rather general in the sense it encompasses a great many possible techniques. It is impossible to name or describe all of them to you here.

What is important to know is that the inclusion of manual therapy to your general physical therapy program is shown to offer greater benefits to the patient and often results in faster recovery*.

At Zang Physical Therapy, you will receive manual therapy from a certified manual therapist (meaning I spent a year studying and practicing to achieve this), and another 2 years to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT). In the physical therapy realm, only about 1% ever achieve this designation through years to comprehensive clinical reasoning study and mentoring.

    Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) is a treatment performed to address tight/tense muscles or areas of pain (local or radiating). This technique inserts a very thin needle into a tense, tight, or a painful muscle with the goal being to “release” the tension, tightness, or pain. The action of the needle creates this cascade of reactions within the muscle to achieve these goals (some of which are noticed immediately and others up to a few hours or next day).

In the right person, done on the right muscle and the right spot will result in reduced tension and pain and improve function. Individual results do vary but implemented by a skilled provider, the treatments tend to be helpful…meaning get back to doing what you enjoy with less stiffness or discomfort.

How to know if it is right for you? Very individual decision here. Have you tried other things without success and they seem to be muscle related- it may be worth exploring this treatment option.

In the end it always comes down to patient choice.  Should you have further questions on dry needling, it side effects or other, feel free to reach out
