Quality of Care

  • June 30, 2016

How do you feel about healthcare in general in this country?

Like most, I bet many of you have a negative view.

With that in mind, how do you feel about the quality of healthcare??

Again, many patients I have spoken to recently are rather unhappy with their interactions with physicians and medicine in general.

48% of Americans believe there is a relationship between cost and quality of health care.(1)

Whether you like this or not…I would say it is absolutely true. With insurance companies continuing to cut reimbursement rates to providers so that they themselves can profit, it becomes more difficult for providers to give the QUALITY as before. To generate the same revenue for their business, volume must go up to offset reduction in payment. This means more patients in a given frame of time AND as a result less time for the patient with the provider which equals reduced quality.

So how does one get quality care again??? One must be willing to seek it out AND if necessary pay a little more for that TLC. BUT in the end, what is the price of good health???

Let me hear your thoughts on how you view the medical system of today and how your experience could be improved.
