Don’t forget your fitness over the holidays

During this time of year, many people forget their fitness over the holidays. They allow those extra activities to eat away at their exercise time. But maintaining your fitness routine is important.

Why is it so important?

Remember, the human body is made for movement. If the body is not moved (enough)…it will begin to complain. Stiffness, aches/pains, feeling sluggish; all things you may feel by not being active. And don’t forget how hard it was to get into your exercise routine. If/when someone gets off their regular exercise routine for several weeks, it then becomes a challenge again to get going. That plus the loss of strength, endurance, and the potential for weight gain (especially if you are replacing exercise with food/drinks).

But I am so busy, I just don’t have the time?

You made time for exercise before, why is now any different? Do not allow your schedule to push away your exercise routine. Continue to use those same time blocks for exercise. Even if maybe you need to shave a little time away. Or shrink up that rest time between sets and push hard. Some exercise is better than none.

By staying consistent with your fitness routine, you will find you have more energy and feel better. Ward off the proverbial sluggishness that is prevalent during this time of year. Keep pushing forward with your fitness over the holidays so the gains you have made over the past few months by remaining consistent.
